Esther Smith LLB (Hons), PGCE, MBA
Born in 1968 in Kenya, Esther arrived in the UK at the age of nine and was brought up in Cleethorpes. She attended Lindsey School and was voted ‘student of the final-year’. Esther represented the school and local sports clubs in events regionally and nationally.
Esther attended Grimsby College achieving in Business and Computer Studies, Lincoln University obtaining a Law Degree (LLB Hons), Grimsby Institute acquiring a Postgraduate Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and University of Hull attaining a Master in Business Administration (MBA).
Esther’s occupations have included IT-Networks
Officer, Contract Officer in Social Services, Diversity Panel
Member and Data and Performance Manager in substance misuse and
Acting Programme Manager in substance misuse.
Esther Chairs the Divisional Independent Advisory
Group in North East Lincolnshire (NEL), and is also a member of the
Diversity Panel Advisory Body for National Probation Service (NPS),
where she delivers training on Equality and Diversity as well as
other topics.
Esther is an Executive Member of the Charity
Communities Together and took on the role of Treasurer. She
is also part of the Governance and Planning and Coordination
Committee. Generally, Esther is involved in the delivery
events and has a taken lead on a number of the projects.
Esther supports various Charities that aim to make a difference
both locally and others internationally.
Throughout her school life and beyond, learning and team work has been very important for Esther and she enjoys the challenges in life. Esther learnt to speak English from scratch at the age of nine by applying the principles of social inclusion and integration.
Esther speaks Swahili, Kikuyu and Baluya and
enjoys travelling to experience different cultures and practice
more languages. And finally, Esther
enjoys sports!
